Newts as promised

And there's loads!!
As they say on the TV..."In no particular order".

Underside Smooth Newt.

Lovely male Great Crested Newt.

Nice little male Smooth Newt.

And again.

And again.

And again.
Diagnostic silver tail flash of male Great Crested Newt.

And again - splendid specimen.

Close up of his friendly little 'fizzog'.

Underwater shot of him.

His underside.

Super belly pattern.

Female Smooth Newt.

Female Great Crested Newt - see the golden stripe on the underside of the tail.

Underside of the female GCN.

Female GCN creeping through the grass.

And finally not a newt but a little spider we found rafting across the surface water film.

Many thanks to our superb cameraman, Raf, for the pics that evening.

Where to next? Not decided yet.

In the meantime let us know what slippery little amphibians you have found in your outback.
