Not quite a latin linnet

The Safari has nowt to report from Patch 1 or Patch 2 - we did visit both but no real news.
A short afternoon allowed a visit to the reserve to twitch a pair of Stonechats - yes we were off twitching common stuff again - but we dipped.
We were alerted to some scrotes carrying bags of gravel from the footpath repair works in to the reedbed - weird. A quick chat to the Rangers had them investigating...the scrotes were seen off and then we wentrt to look what they had been upto...they were trying to set up a cannabis farm in the reedbed. They'd flattened an area and covered it with plastic sheeting weighed down with bricks at the corners. Shame it was transparent sheeting as the reeds wuold have grown straight through it. Needless to say it was removed off site.
On the way out we spotted this Buzzard getting grief from a young Black Headed Gull. Just a bit too high for the camera and perhaps we should have taken the scratched polarising filter off.

Where to next? Day off tomorrow and we should be able to get an afternoon safari in somewhere local.
In the meantime let us know who's trying to grow what in your outback.
