Disaster of the worst order

The Safari has bad news - we've broken our Fuji HS20EXR camera or worn it out!
We got a brand new SD card today put it in went to  try a few shots and the camera came up with lens control error an we can't get rid of it. Tried getting any grains of sand out and gonna try keeping it in a bag with a load of silica gel to see if we've got any moisture in it from wet hands on the beach.
If all else fails we'll just have to dash out and buy a new one; the thing about new ones is the technology is better and so should the pics be...sort of looking towards a Fuji HS50EXR 42x optical zoom 1000mmm 35mm equivalent! and still has the super macro facility and should be faster to focus and download to the card when taking multiple shots.
Hmmm decisions decisions.
Where to next? Mothy is out and the phone-cam is at the ready.
In the meantime let us know if there's a camera for sale in your outback

Dave - sorry to hear about the camera issue - have you tired removing the battery for a while then re-inserting?
