Not a lot other than more rain

The Safari woke yet again to the sound of rain. A quick spin out with Frank had us see a Swallow flitting by southwards...fed up and had enough of the 'summer' already?
By the time we got to Patch 2 the rain had eased to a drizzle but visibility was still very poor. A shrimp trawler was working not far offshore with an abundance of Great Black Backed Gulls in attendance, a single Gannet was in the mix too. Not a lot else was about but a Sandwich Tern caught our eye as it dropped but didn't seem to dive..it actually landed on one of the uprights on the far end of the outfall pipe and was soon joined by its mate. Between them they played leapfrog as the incoming tide covered the posts in succession.
Whilst watching the terns' 'game' we noticed a Grey Seal a little way beyond them and then something far more unexpected, a drake Teal
At lunchtime conditions were no better and the trawler had moved to the horizon, in the gloom it was hard to see what was what but there were two Gannets now and another two ignored it an flew right past. A Manx Shearwater also past astern of it, the first we've seen for a while.
That was about the lot.
Where to next? More of the wet same tomorrow.
In the meantime let us know if there's been any little rays of sunshine in your outback today.
No photos today? No chance!
