Totally tropical

The Safari's 'adventure' with the Horse Fly came to a rather serious head today when mid afternoon we learnt that our sister-in-law had been bitten by one and then been rushed to hospital with anaphylactic shock - revenge???
On the way home to meet Wifey before she headed off to the hossy we drove through possibly one of the worst rainstorms we've ever encountered in Lancashire...beyond torrential - last time we saw rain like that was in Borneo!
Fortunately last night was much more clement and our group enjoyed a little over an hour exploring the beach in the early evening sunshine.
A couple of Beadlet Anemones were cruelly wrenched from the rocks. One of which did the decent thing and opened up in the tray.

We were rinsing the nets and had already released the contents of the trays as the tide started to lap at our ankles when one of the young girls came up arm outstretched and said 'What's this?'

Could we remember what it's called? - we've seen them before in SW Wales but just couldn't find the name.
This morning it came to us after a bit of trawling through the interweb...Acteon tornatilis, a cracking looking thing that wouldn't be out of place on a beach in Borneo.
Where to next? Have to take Frank to the vets for his op first thing tomorrow morning followed no doubt be a fretful day at work. Hopefully there'll be something of interest on Patch 2 although we won't get an early morning session in.
In the meantime let us know if the monsoon was unleashed in your outback.

I was out driving in that downpour too, if that's what it's like in Borneo I think I'll give it a miss.
