Bring on the birds

The Safari is fed up with Strictly come voting already. Can't believe we're gonna say this...roll on the New Year when all this gubbins is over!!!
Anyway a few foreign birds for you to enjoy, unless yer an Aussie in which case they ain't foreign.
Very recently fledged Scarlet Robins.
 Pops
Black Swan, and not the one hanging round Lancashire at the mo
Carnaby's Cockatoo - 'endangered'. Had a great visit to the Kaarakin Cockatoo Rescue Centre courtesy of our new friends in the Dept of Environment and Conservation.

The local pair of very wary Chestnut Teal
Probably Australia's most numerous dove/pigeon, the Common Bronzewing

Grey Currawong, on the Kookaburra's fence post - cheeky devil!
A loved up pair of Laughing Kookaburras
One of the family of Australian Magpies - what a joy to be woken by their beautiful caroling family chorus every morning - the quintessential sound of Australia...which some how we forgot to record for you
We watched this Splendid Fairy Wren moulting for the last three weeks, another week would have seen it fully coloured up. They don't stop moving not even for a fraction of a second.

New Holland Honeyeater
 And another
Red Wattlebird with a New Holland
Silver Gulls - expertly photographed by Aussie Glen - one of only three species of gull on the continent...more than that on our beach this arvo and a Yellow Legged Gull there yesterday found by DB
Cheeky Silvereyes clearing up at the cafe
Three species of cormorant, Pied Cormorant, Little Pied Cormorant and Little Black Cormorant
Western Yellow Robin - what a nightmare we had trying to get pics of this little beauty, really skittish and he spent most of his time high in the canopy - succumbed to mealworms in the end.
 White Breasted Robin
White Naped Honeyeater with a Silvereye
 Baudin's Cockatoo - 'endangered'

Willie Wagtail - a great little character
 Australian Wood Duck

Yellow Rumped Thornbill

Where to next? Maybe a mammal or two.
In the meantime let us know what's pecking around in your outback
On a local note we had a Great Skua go south off Patch 2 this morning (P2 #82)

Crikey, what a selection of exotic looking birds that is Dave. The Honeyeaters are little crackers, & the Robin fledglings are very cute, I'm loving the loved up Kookaburras too. Terrific stuff.
