Dull, damp and dreary

The safari is still out of action! Sat at Base Camp peering through the window at a seriously grey day with very little happening out there. Just had a blimp in to the North American field guide and counted 41 bird species not seen before, plus others like Double Crested Cormorant (which was twitched in Galway many years ago) we were reaquianted with and others we're much more familiar with; outside the shopping mall there was a flock of House Sparrows and a Collared Dove - just like outside Morrison's up the road here, but with House Sparrows! Wifey got two we dipped due to driving; Wood Stork and - woe of woes - American Coot - all that water but could we find another, the nearest thing we got to a Coot was this turtle now identified, from the face/neck pattern as a Peninsular Cooter!Where to next? Just staring out the window at a rainsoaked garden for a coupla days...
In the meantime let us know how much rain is falling in your outback today.

Just had a short rainstorm here in Tok, Alaska despite my post about sunshine. Could be more for us in the next few days but I hope your window view gets sunnier!
