The frustration continues

The Safari listened to the ratttling of hailstones on the windows as the continuing gale drives wwho knows what onshore a few hundred yards away on the other side of the hill. There's deffo some good stuff out there as PK found out this morning (on our teenage years patch) - just the three lifers in that lot!!! Maybe we'll have to move to one of the posh houses on the cliffs, but could we see through the windows on a day like today - certainly wouldn't fancy standing on the balcony.

Or maybe not as SE braving the elements a couple of miles up the road didn't get a great deal.

Nothing to report from real Base Camp - no Robins twittering and no Peregrines on the tower.

Where to next? A bit of vis going over might be nice if we can't get to the sea front, wind looks set to be strong in the wrong direction for that for a day or so more though.

In the meantime let us know what the wind's blown in in your outback

PS Look out for RH's wildlife extravaganza on BBC's Autumnwatch this Friday - having strimmed through a couple of Wasps' nests over the years we can understand his reluctance to upset that monster of a Hornet standing on guard at the entrance to the nest!

I don't think you missed much on our stretch of coast Dave. I was out for 2.5 hours and didn't see a great deal. I thought the wind was due west, but Pete Marsh though it was WWNW at Heysham, meaning a little bit too much northerly in the westerly. If it's any consolation it is going to be NW proper tomorrow so that will probably mean very little on the Fylde coast as you know. Cheers, Seumus
