The purgatory begins

The Safari is at the frustrating stage - trussed up tighter than an oven ready chicken - and after only two days incapacity the decent birds have started to bee seen. A Leach's Petrel from the sea wall close to work and a Slavonian Grebe on the lake an easy lunchtime drive from work - both on the 'predicted/hoped for' list too.
There's a few more on the reverse side but you get the gist...what a time to be out of action!!! It's Hobson's Choice really, don't have the op and lose the use of yer hand(s) sooner rather than later, or have the now annual ops and lose the use of yer hands later rather than sooner...by the time later comes bionics might be order of the day and we can have a supa-macro - 100X digi-scope implanted into the remains of the hand...now that would be handy.

Back in the real world we're gonna be confined to these four walls for at least two weeks with only wot's lurking in the garden for company/inspiration.
For example take these two Rowan trees in next door's garden - the one with other trees and shrubs has been almost stripped of berries while the one standing alone has hardly been touched.

We didn't used to be able to see that house while the leaves were still on the trees that's how much habbo destruction has occured here over the last coupla years. We put some sunny seeds in the feeder before we went to hossy - be interesting to see how many are left when we can next get up the garden for a shuffy...can't see em from the house untill the leaves fall.

Enough one fingered typing we're cream crackered now

Where to next? You're stuck with tales from Base Camp.

In the meantime let us know who's hacked all the cover down in your outback.

Hope the Op went well Dave. If you're able to get out but in need of transport give me a shout & i'll gladly give you a lift.

I went to see the Slav Grebe this aft, an ace bird & a 1st for me, although I think I picked the windiest 30 mins of the day & even with my low centre of gravity couldn't stop swaying in the wind whilst trying to focus on the Grebe.

Had a Marsh Harrier at the Mere on Monday BTW - OK I'm probably not helping mentioning that.
